Project Master Plan provided for Central Midlands Council of Governments (CMCOG) in coordination and cooperation with Richland County to perform a land use and transportation study (Transit Oriented Development) along the Broad River Road corridor. The study incorporated Transit Oriented Development (TOD) principles and practices that to enhance the safety, security, and efficiency of the transportation system. In 2011 this project was nominated for a Neighborhoods USA national award. Several methods and processes were utilized to fully engage the Broad River Road Study Area community. The Public Workshop and Presentation and Charrette Workshop sessions were designed to engage the public in discussing a shared vision for the Broad River Road Corridor and Community Study.
